Dissecting 'Anatomy of a Fall': A Cinematic Triumph by Justine Triet

Anatomy of a Fall, directed by French filmmaker Justine Triet and starring renowned German actor Sandra Huller as a writer charged with her husband's murder, is the pinnacle of Triet's filmmaking concerns. Triet has become well-known for her delicate, occasionally humorous stories about contemporary women figuring out who they are, what they want, and how to interact with others.

After taking home the Palme D'Or at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Anatomy of a Fall went on to win one Oscar for best original screenplay and received five nominations overall.

Unexpectedly, Anatomy of a Fall takes on a thriller quality while also challenging the traditions of the murder mystery and the legal drama. The movie revolves around what we believe to be true about Sandra and what she, Daniel, and everyone else decide to believe.

The simple act of taking pictures serves to draw attention to the performances and the spoken conversations. Anatomy of a Fall consistently performs well in these two categories.
